Recharge services and pricing
ABC dry chemical recharge — $25–35
After a discharge (even partial), the extinguisher must be recharged. We do ABC recharges in-house: empty, inspect, refill with fresh agent, re-pressurize with nitrogen to label spec, leak test, install new tamper seal and tag.
6-year internal maintenance — $35–50
NFPA 10 requires stored-pressure dry chemical extinguishers to have their internals inspected every 6 years. We disassemble, inspect the cylinder, siphon tube, O-rings, and valve, replace worn parts, refill, re-pressurize, and install a service verification collar showing the date.
12-year hydrostatic test — $40–60
Every extinguisher cylinder must be hydrostatically tested every 12 years. We coordinate this with a licensed testing facility. If a cylinder fails, we'll advise on replacement — often cheaper than a failed test fee plus refurbishment.
Class K recharge — buy new instead
We do NOT recharge Class K wet chemical extinguishers in-house. The wet chemical agent is brand-specific and precision-filled — a wrong formulation creates liability if the unit underperforms in a grease fire. We recommend buying a new unit wholesale, which is often cheaper than a recharge.
